Chris Cooper BSc (Hons) MRICS MCIArb
Chris obtained his degree in Building Surveying from Sheffield Hallam University before qualifying as a professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. Chris is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and is also a member of the Pyramus and Thisbe Society, which seeks to promote best practice in relation to Party Wall procedures. Chris has extensive experience in neighbourly matters, including Party Wall, Right to Light, Oversail Licences and Boundary Determination. He has previously acted for a wide range of commercial and private clients, acting both for developers and adjoining owners on a variety of schemes. He regularly advises Local Authorities on their rights and obligations under the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 for large regeneration schemes and advises developers on the potential impact on light to neighbouring properties at design stage.
Chris regularly provides advice on boundary issues, including likely ownership of physical boundary features to be incorporated into schemes and reviews a variety of legal documents to assist in locating the boundary.
Chris is also an APC Assessor and undertakes the role of APC Counsellor for RICS candidates.
